Capcom surprised horror fans at Summer Game Fest 2026 by officially revealing Resident Evil Veronica, a remake of the cult classic Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Even better for Nintendo players, the game is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, alongside other modern platforms, with a planned 2027 release window.
The announcement trailer gave fans a first look at a darker, modernized take on Claire Redfield’s terrifying journey. Originally released in 2000, Code: Veronica has long been one of the most requested Resident Evil remakes, especially after the success of Capcom’s remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4.
For longtime fans, Claire’s return is more than nostalgia — it is unfinished business.
